Does Speech Recognition Works? Does Speech Recognition reduce Distraction? or does it Cause Distraction?
Many consumers, of all walks of life are still impressed with Speech Recognition and what it can (Supposedly) do. The following are few videos by third party reviewers users that use these systems. Let's just say that they are not happy about it (even when they try to be positive), and they are unable to use it even when the user is a professional Automotive and Technology journalist.
These clips show two different telematic solutions, The overly touted Ford-Microsoft (Sync®), and Primary Standard in Telematic, GM (OnStar®). But rest assured that ALL THE OTHER solutions suffer similar or worse failures then what you see here.
Our solution have abandoned the idea of Speech Recognition in '94. The Speech Recognition technology have improved since that time, but it still like a lottery sometime you win, more time you loose.
Other videos here are about the issue of overload, attention and distraction are also below for added emphasis on the need for "DrivingSystemTM"
