Michigan Company Develops Technology That Offers Distraction-Free Use Of All Portable Devices In Cars

West Bloomfield, MI.- February 9, 2006 – Oakland County’s Applikompt has developed revolutionary technology that allows a driver to use their Cell phone, Navigation System, Palm Pilot, or any other device for that matter, without ever taking their eyes off of the road. The STMCGateway is product that is being developed currently to integrate the workings of portable devices with your car’s own network, allowing the technology to be used with any make or model of cell phones and other devices.  Using wireless technology and a USB connector, your devices are docked with the STMCGateway ‘cradle’ that works with the communication system of your car to provide you a one-source product for all of your communications devices.....(See full press release )

January 17, 2005, the U.S. Patent Office published our second pending Telematic patent, Safety control system for vehicles.  The patent is one of three patents that shares the same priority date.  One patent was granted.  Click here to see the currently pending application

In other news, effective November 2004, we began inquiring with various automakers, tier auto/telecom suppliers and aftermarket suppliers about their use of what appears to be similar features of our patent, “We are flattered said Mr. Mouhamad. Naboulsi, president of Applikompt and inventor of STMCGateway, and we hope that we can get all to license and deploy our technology with minimal cost to manufacturers and consumers”.

Convergence2004 news

Mr. John McElroy, A Detroit automotive icon and  the host of Radio and TV shows about the auto industry, (Autoline Detroit), witnessed a demo and gave the system a "TWO THUMBS UP".  Additional European, American and Japanese media representatives stopped by as well, we will post their articles on this site once we get them.

 

We received excellent leads from leading Telecom, Tier 1, 2 and OEMs.  Theses leads were almost evenly split between national and international companies and they included Telecom as well as Automotive companies.   On behalf of my colleagues at ACT and EnGenius, I want to thank all those who stopped by, and we look forward to working with you in the near future.

In October of 2002, Applikompt filed for U.S. and International patent protection for our star product, Safe Telematics Monitoring and Control Gateway, (STMCGateway).  The patents cover several aftermarket versions, (Great potential), and one universal OEM version.  Generic versions of the claims are quoted here for your review.

 

In the last four industry fairs that we attended and exhibited, our device was describe as a “Next Generation system”, “Ahead of the Curve” and so on.  It was also described as an industry empowering product, and as a necessary compliment to all existing Telematic products.

 

What is STMCGateway?  STMCGateway is a three tier approach to Telematics deployment.  The following are the three tiers summary:

1.      Knowledge-ware that consider the Driving experience as a complete system.  The driving systems parameters will vary in intensity based on the type of the driving application.

a.      Driving System:

 i.      History

 ii.      Assessment

 iii.      Regulation

 iv.      Man

 v.      Machine

 vi.      Environment

 

2.      User Interface, (100% availability, 100% Universal, 100% accessible and 100% reliable), that won’t be disabled by open windows or crying babies.

 

      3.      Adaptive intelligent modular monitoring system that performs the following:

a.      Deploy the results of the assessment generated by the Knowledge ware (1st tier)

b.      Remove and add Applications and devices from the system. (Modular)

c.      Prioritize applications and features as follows:

i.      Driver skills

ii.      Driver records

 iii.      Driver habits

 iv.      Driver Physiology

 v.      Other tags which are still confidential

d.      Provide profile portability among various vehicles and vessels using several methods.

e.      Provide Driver awareness/awake/attentive monitoring and warnings without adding new parts to car

f.        Provide countermeasures to Telematics caused distraction.

g.      Provide Accident Reporting via several methods using existing off the shelf technologies and infrastructures.

h.      Provide a data recorder that provide for current trip history.

i.        Build statistical model to summarize collected data for transportability.
